There are many reasons why multiple patient accounts may need to be merged. Converted images missing some patient information (DOB, ID number, etcetera), name change caused a duplicate patient record, bridge information changed (ID number change, SSN added, etcetera), and more.
If necessary, merging patients can be done within XVWeb by following the steps outlined within the Editing Patient Information section of our Editing Patient, Study, Series, and Image DICOM Information - XVWeb article, by editing the patient record you wish to disappear to match the patient record you wish to keep EXACTLY.
(Note: Once the records match exactly, all images held under both patient records will appear under the single patient instance.)
Merging patients can also be done within the XVCapture software by following the steps outlined in our Merging Patients - XVCapture/DCV article.
